FutureGov Networks is in beta, which means we're still working on it. We want it to be useful so tell us what you think and what else you'd like to see and we'll make it happen.
We are a consultancy with a passion for making the most of information and the web to improve the public sector. We want to help government get closer to its customers so that services better meet their needs.
"A seven minute animation film introducing world class commissioning. Particularly good for new audience groups. Available to use at local events/staff briefings by the NHS and partners."
Interesting approach to communicating the aims and challenges of commissioning within the NHS. Certainly some interesting lessons for other organisations to consider when undertaking change programmes, developing more engaging content that gives an insight into real life stories behind the bureaucracy.
(thanks to Tricia White for this one)
Naughty language, great intro
Alan Moore's passionate challenge to linear thinking and exploration of more natural models of organisation. Well illustrated with ideas from lots of different sources.
At the end of June, I headed over to by far and away the best digital engagement themed conference I've been to so far - the Personal Democracy Forum 2009 in New York.
The stand out presentation without a shadow of a doubt was this presentation from Michael Wesch titled "The Machine is (Changing) Us" about how the internet is changing society. Never before have I seen a standing ovation at a conference but his was truly deserved!
For the rest of the content from the conference, head over to the PDF website (click right/left on the actual video to see others) and also look for PDF coming to Europe in November this year. We hope to be supporting this event so watch this space.
Fascinating look at how to use storytelling and narrative in the design process (be it web design or public service design).
Echoes of Emer Coleman's GLA presentation at Reboot Britain at the beginning of July.

Nice slide deck from Rohan Gunatillake (ex-NESTA Connect team) on the use of digital media to develop content and engage teh public.
Plenty of transferable advice for government.
Hi all
I've had a few gentle reminders (!) about getting up the presentations from our Learning to Listen session, so here they are!
For those that couldn't make it we had a good crowd of about 40 people from local government in London with responsibility for communications, customers, democratic engagement and web teams.
If you couldn't come along check out the presentations and let us know what you think.
